"Falling Slowly" was one of several songs written by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová for a movie that their friend, and former bass player fo Hansard's band, The Frames. That little movie, made for $150,000, went on to be a big hit and "Falling Down" won the Academy Award for best original song.
